Iketeru @ Hilton Kuala Lumpur

During my training trip in KL, I ordered Grab Food almost every evening as the Covid19 numbers were increasing, but there was an evening which saw a heavy downpour and my Grab Food order took forever without any updates. It took me a long time to find a support number to call and have my order cancelled before I walked downstairs to have my dinner at Iketeru.

Iketeru is the Japanese restaurant within Hilton KL, I have seen the hefty price tag of their menu but I was literally starving and needed a lot of brain juice to finish my revision for exam the next day so what the heck!

The interior was classy, with an aquarium on the left after the entrance, and there was a Teppanyaki station on the right, a Sushi and Sashimi station right across from the main entrance as well.

Having studied the menu a little (mainly over the price), I settled for..

Clam red miso soup (Asari Akadashi) RM 45

On a cold rainy night, I couldn't have asked for more. The broth was flavorful, clams cooked just right and I enjoyed this to the last drop

Grilled Salmon with Salt (Salmon Shioyaki) - RM 62

You can opt for Salt or Teriyaki. To me, Teriyaki doesn't bring out the best of grilled salmon so I went for the Salt. When this was served I was so impressed with how the skin was so crispy. The salmon flesh was grilled to perfection - tender yet smoky. I literally peeled the flesh layer by layer as I enjoyed this dish. This piece of grilled salmon is definitely by far the best I had for a long time.

After devouring, erm, I mean enjoying the flesh, I saved the skin for last - it only left me craving for MORE

Crab Fried Rice RM 30

The fried rice was good, it had the Wok Hei but paled slightly in comparison with the soup and salmon, simply because I did not see real crab meat but rather artificial crab stick. Quite disappointed since this is a rather established restaurant serving food with an expensive price tag.

There's my meal

Lastly, ended my meal with Sesame Ice Cream (Kuro Goma ice cream) RM19 as recommended by the staff, with Red Bean Paste topping (Kintoki) RM9
The ice cream was divine - I loved every bit of it. I didn't like the red bean paste that much - it is too sweet to my liking.

I hope to be back again for their grilled salmon - it is just too good!
